WELL CHILD CHECK UPS
Well checks are an integral part of your child’s healthcare. These visits provide the opportunity to assess your child’s growth, development, and general health. Contrary to acute visits when your child is ill, not very playful and typically not as cooperative, wellness visits allow your healthcare provider to assess the child’s developmental and social skills when they are feeling good. That is why an appointment for an ear infection is not a replacement for a well visit.

The following is the well check schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and our office:
3-5 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months, 18 months, 24 months, 30 months. Starting at 3 years, well visits are scheduled annually until age 18 years.

Important Billing Information for Annual Wellness Visit Appointments:
Many insurance companies have changed the level of benefit for Annual Wellness Visits or "Check-Ups."
An Annual Wellness visit includes:

An opportunity to review your child's medical history and look for potential health risk

Assess overall health and wellbeing

Update Vaccines

Order and update preventing screening services such as developmental screens (ASQ, MCHAT), hearing/vision screenings, and blood tests
