Policy for Health Sharing Plans:

Effective January 1, 2026, Cornerstone Pediatrics will no longer be submitting claims to Health

Sharing plans, such as Medishare, One Share, Liberty Health Share, or Altrua Health Share. Please

call our billing department at (678) 543-9400 with any questions.

 

Health Share plans are not recognized in the state of Georgia as insurance. These plans are not

regulated by the office of the insurance commissioner, which means they do not offer a well-

defined and consistent benefit.

 

If you wish to continue your child’s care with Cornerstone Pediatrics, you will be charged a

discounted self-pay rate that will be collected at the time of service. This rate is typically more

cost-effective than the residual balances with health sharing plans. You will then need to self-file a

claim with your health share plan for direct reimbursement. We will gladly provide you with an

itemized receipt for this purpose upon request. This helps eliminate excessive administrative

expenses and allows us to keep costs more affordable for our patients. Thank you for your

cooperation and understanding!

Important Billing Information for Annual Wellness Visit Appointments:

Many insurance companies have changed the level of benefit for Annual Wellness Visits or "Check-Ups."
An Annual Wellness visit includes:

  • An opportunity to review your child's medical history and look for potential health risk

  • Assess overall health and wellbeing

  • Update Vaccines

  • Order and update preventing screening services such as developmental screens (ASQ, MCHAT), hearing/vision screenings, and blood tests


Wellness visits do not include management of acute (new) or chronic (ongoing) illnesses. 


If time permits, we are happy to extend your wellness visit to address any new or ongoing problems that your child may be experiencing.  However, please note that this may result in your insurance plan determining that the visit is subject to additional charges, such as copayment, deductible, and/or co-insurance.  You may elect to make a separate appointment to address these concerns as well.  We are happy to answer any questions.  If you have questions regarding this notice, or have other billing concerns, please ask to speak with our Billing Specialist.

Patients on Alternative or Catch-Up Immunization Schedules

As a result of recent insurance restrictions, vaccine-only visits are no longer available.  Vaccinations will either be given at your child's routine wellness visits or in conjunction with a visit for another primary diagnosis.
